Yorkshire Sculpture Park Visit
A couple of weeks ago, the university had organised a trip to go to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. The purpose of the trip was to experience artwork firsthand, and to also gather inspiration. The sculpture park is full of works from various artists ranging from Sol Le Witt, to Antony Gormley, to Magdalena Abakanowicz. While there were sculptures placed all around the park, there was also various exhibits within the different buildings at Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
One of the exhibits was the Bill Viola. The majority of the Bill Viola work was video and installation, which drew in the public eye and guided you through a pitch black exhibit. I thoroughly enjoyed the work of Bill Viola, and will be using their work as a form of inspiration for my future projects.
At the time of the visit, the Poppies Wave was installed at the park. This was an extraordinary site to see, as it’s a small part of a bigger picture. I really loved being able to see this as I missed the chance to see the full installation when it exhibited down in London.
And even with all the artwork around the park, I was still enticed by the seasonal change throughout the park. With the weather changing, and the sun shining, the park screamed Autumn. The colours in the wilderness made the experience a lot more enjoyable, and also may have distracted me from looking at some of the artwork. Below are images from the trip. Enjoy.
Photoshop – Me
Hi everyone. I thought since it’s a nice day, I would go out and take some pictures,…of me. I’ve taken multiple images of me and put them all in Photoshop and put them together. Now there are multiple me’s! 😀 I have always wanted to do some photography and then Photoshop it to this.
Simple process, well, simple for those who know how to use Photoshop. I had taken the images, and then set them up in the order I wanted in the layers. I then erased around me and the shadows, but left the background image. I did have to edit in a shadow as one shadow went over another me, if that makes sense.
It took me about 40-50 mins, I wasn’t counting but I haven’t been on Photoshop in a while otherwise I would have done it faster. Enjoy.
Night Sky
Doing a lot of work recently, so I decided since I’m up late anyway, to take some pictures of the sky. Just some more long exposures. Enjoy.
Sunset
Hey everyone, sorry for the delay in posts, I’ve been real busy with my new project and, I’m not going to lie, I’ve been playing xbox to ( to help unwind ). So I have some lovely pictures of sunsets for you all to look at. With the sun being out recently, I thought I might as well get some pictures. Enjoy.
Moon Light Exposure
Here are some photo’s I took of the moon last night at around 1am. These are all practically the same image, just at different exposures ranging from a couple of seconds to about a minute. I’m planning on making a digital collage with these images at some point over the next week. Enjoy.
Train Exposure 3
I have a few more pictures this time, and I had a bit of a play around with the zoom as the shutter was open. Enjoy.
Train Exposure
While waiting for the train the other day I decided to take a long exposure. Sorry about the blur, I had no tripod. Enjoy.
Boredom
I made this in Photoshop after being a bit bored. I had taken the picture last week and I decided to do something with it; looking at it now, the image does look a bit freaky but I like it. Enjoy.
Moon
Still just looking through old photo’s and I’ve came across more which are worthy of postage. Enjoy.
Edits 2
Just been searching through some of my old files on dropbox and I found these photo’s. They are the same ones from before but in a later stage of editing.
Lens Based Media
The second rotation is Lens Based Media; I can do anything from photography, through to film. I started out with a brain storm for all the ideas I had which included documentation, storyboards, anything that I could link to photography/film. After a bit of thought I decided to do a storyboard/timeline which over the series of the photos would decay or evolve into a different environment. I chose to use a daily diary of sorts, my daily diary; a storyboard of me waking up, getting ready, going to uni and falling asleep. But then I hit a bit of a barrier of how to decay the timeline, so I decided to make it a dream within a dream, a continuing loop of dreams that never ends; the decay will the characters will to continue, that he will never ‘wake up’, he will become more and more distant from finding the real world and will either accept his fate, or give up. For this loop to happen, I had the character fall asleep while working, which he would then wake up in bed to start the loop over again.
I have only made three of the millions of the cycle; these three are at different points of the story. The first line is towards the beginning where he is starting to realise what’s happening. The second line is towards the middle where he’s deciding what will become of him and weather he should continue or stop. The third line is between the middle and the end, he’s stuck between what he should choose, but because he still cycles through, he gets further and further from reality and is slowing running out of time………this is the third option he can chose to never decide, to see if he escapes in the end.
